Co-packing services
Co-packing services provided by MFP include manufacturing and packaging of food products for other companies to sell. MFP also provides its co-packing customers with recipe formulation, custom label design and custom label printing. MFP carries regulatory certifications and insurance necessary to manufacture products that fit into the FDA's "Acidified Foods" category. MFP also carries a MT Dept of livestock certification to process, and package ground beef, and deli meats.
MFP currently serves several small farming operations and food entrepreneurs in western Montana and Idaho. MFP can provide food processing expertise, access to equipment and licensed facilities, distribution channels, fulfillment and logistics, and scaleable operations for beginning food manufacturers. MFP markets their ability to co-pack signature sauces and spices for existing distributors and restaurants. We also promote the development of private label sauces, salsa, jams, jellies, spreads, and spices for individuals in our region.

Product Incubator
Commercial kitchen business incubation services provided by MFP foster the manufacturing and packaging of niche food products developed by micro business entities that require an FDA-approved facility.
MFP serves the interest of many individuals launching the commercialization of their own recipes and provides an opportunity for our customers to prepare food products for personal consumption, as gifts, or as an introduction to the marketplace.
MFP also offers assistance with recipe formulation, custom label design and custom label printing.

Graphic Design
Montana Food Products has an in-house design & marketing department that can help develop, create and print labels for almost any product. Whether you have an idea, an old label or just a product, we can work with you to create a dynamic eye-catching label that will attract customers to your product.
Pricing: $50 an hour (not including label printing or nutritional information costs)
USDA/FDA Approval
MFP designers will ensure your labels are approved by all required organizations. Through our experience in the food industry we utilize knowledge and contacts to quickly and accurately produce FDA or USDA approved labels.
The FDA is responsible for protecting public health by assuring the safety and efficacy of drugs, biological products, medical devices, cosmetics, products that emit radiation and the nation's food supply. The USDA is a full federal government department headed by a cabinet member, the Secretary of Agriculture. It has a number of specific missions carried out by agencies under its supervision. These missions include economic and marketing assistance to farmers and ranchers, food safety, and efforts to end hunger.
Nutritional Analysis
Using 'state of the art' nutritional software our design team can produce an accurate USDA/FDA approved nutritional label. In addition we will also supply you with an allergen statement.
Pricing: $45 flat rate per nutritional label
Label Printing
MFP has the capacity to print high quality labels, including four color and full bleed. Our professional label stock is self adhesive and water proof. We source our labels directly from the manufacturer resulting in competitive prices and more label options. Digital printing allows for short turnaround times and flexible printing options. From short runs to bulk orders, our prices are competitive and our service is top quality.
